DescriptionImpressism landscapeeMuseum Notes
In the 1950s, Andrew Dasburg produced a series of expressive drawings of the New Mexican landscape that reveal the influence of Vincent van Gogh, although it is likely he also responded to the gestural works of abstract expressionism. The geometric framework common to Dasburg's earlier and later work is still apparent in this drawing, although the tree trunk prompted a more improvisational approach in his depiction.
