DescriptionPlan for a detail of a proposed reredos commissioned by Julie Penrose for a chapel in Colorado Springs, CO, a design that was never executed in full. In the top half, five figures sit next to each other, each with a different object or gesture. From left to right, the leftmost holds a musical instrument (guitar?), the next holds a book, the middle figure holds nothing and raises his left hand, the next holds a paintbrush and artist's palette, and the last holds a tool (hammer?). Beneath them is a band of alternating flowers and squares. Above them are squiggly lines that follow the contours of their heads.
