DescriptionPlan for a proposed reredos commissioned by Julie Penrose for a chapel in Colorado Springs, CO, a design that was never executed in full. The center image is a standing Mary holding an object topped with a cross. The very top has a moon on the left, sun in the middle, and swooping bird on the right. The upper left and right panels have angels, the center left is a shepherd, the center right is a woman and child. The bottom left and right are birds and acorns, with five seated figures in a line in the middle just beneath Mary's feet. Birds and acorns decorate the very bottom. The very right and left edges have designs of parallel diagonal lines that curve at the edges as if wrapping around a column. The design is mirrored on the two spires to the left and right of the reredos. On View
